Can anyone truly make someone worship? The answer is no. Worship cannot be manufactured by a song, a style, or even the most talented musician. True worship is a response of the heart—it is something only God Himself stirs within us.

That being said, the role of a worship leader is to create an environment that points people to Jesus and encourages them to lift their hearts to Him. At First Baptist Iva, our desire is not to entertain, but to glorify Christ and help believers see Him more clearly.

We offer a blended service with both contemporary songs and timeless hymns, using music as a catalyst to draw our hearts toward God. But at the center of it all, worship is not about us—it’s about Him.

Worship is about ascribing to God His worth.
Worship is ultimately for God, not us.
In order to worship, people must see God.
Worship is purposeful.
