Community Food Bank Operates Through First Baptist of Iva

grains

In November of 2000, a couple at First Baptist Church of Iva was approached by someone who saw the need for a food bank to serve those in the Iva/Starr area. The couple agreed that there was a need and decided to do something about it. The food bank was born and currently helps to feed over 200 families twice a month.

The food bank is open two days every other week, on Wednesdays from 3:00-4:00 and on Thursdays from 2:00-3:00.

Families who are seeking assistance from the food bank must be pre-approved and must make an appointment to pick up their food items.

For more information about receiving food or to volunteer your services, contact Robert or Dottie Goulart at (864) 348-2602.
