Adult Classes, Activities, and Opportunities Abound at First Baptist Iva

Numerous Sunday School classes, church related activities and opportunities to serve abound at First Baptist Church of Iva. Keep reading to see which areas might be of interest to you and then come and join in at FBI!

Sunday School

Worship

Sunday School meets every Sunday morning from 10:00 - 11:00. Adult classes are available for college age young adults, couples, adult men, adult women, senior adult women and senior adult men. Come to Sunday School and leave with new friends and with a closer walk with our Lord!

Missions Opportunities

Men and women at First Baptist Church of Iva have many opportunities for involvement in missions related service. A Women's prayer group meets each month, and the Brotherhood schedules quarterly meetings with the focus on missions across the globe. The groups also  participate in local missions projects designed to serve the local community. Click here for more information on community missions.

Bible Study

In addition to Sunday morning and Sunday evening worship services, adults at FBI have many opportunities to learn more about His word. Adults gather in the sanctuary each Wednesday evenings from 7:00 - 8:00  for a discussion and study of the scripture. In addition, adults are invited to participate in Bible study groups that use literature by Beth Moore, Max Lucado and others. Contact the church for information on dates for the next Bible study and plan to join us as we study to learn more about how to daily walk closer to Christ.

Music Ministries

Adults have an open invitation to join in singing the praises of Jesus Christ through participation in either or both adult choirs! Adults and teens of all ages are encouraged to participate in the Sanctuary choir, which meets for rehearsal every Wednesday night from 7:00-8:00. The senior choir is made up of adults aged 50 years and up. The group, known as the "Savior's Singing Seniors" is open to community members from all denominations, and meets (often with home cooked dishes!) on Mondays at 11:00. Contact Marlene for more information.

Opportunities to Serve

Adult influence is important for our children and youth and good Christian role models are critical for their development as Christians. Opportunities to help guide our young people toward a close walk with Christ abound. Adults have opportunities to serve as Sunday School teachers, children's worship leaders, missions organization leaders, music ministry directors, food bank workers, Vacation Bible School teachers, children and youth leaders, and as adult leaders. If you are not actively involved in service at First Baptist, come to the church, volunteer, and get involved!
